I guess there is no need to state all the turmoil this year has brought for so many, if 2021 has meant struggles for you personally and/or professionally I empathise and I hope 2022 will be easier for you.

Something good (for many) that is partly a result of the COVID stress and angst has been a noticeable shift in the number of organisations that are working harder to create cultures of wellbeing. The National Respect @ Work report Respect@Work: Sexual Harassment National Inquiry Report (2020) | Australian Human Rights Commission, together with greater media attention given to sexual harassment and gender inequality is also raising awareness across sectors, this has been positive to see and is a trend I hope grows and continues.

After a slow start 2021 has been a busy year for Respect at Work, I delivered 147 training sessions, which equated to 346 training hours, to a total of 2087 participants. While face-to-face training is always my preference, I have delivered a couple of webinars and embraced Zoom and Teams for one-on-one sessions in NSW and WA. I have also used my new workplace mediator certification for a couple of successful mediations and have stepped into facilitating pulse surveys for some clients.

Once again I have travelled across Tasmania, I don’t want to try to add up the hours (or the kms) I spent driving – agh!, but I do love enjoying our beautiful state. This time I circled the State with a total of 37 nights away and visits to Savage River, Stanley, King Island, Burnie, Port Sorell, Devonport, Launceston, Bicheno, Kingston, Cradoc, and Cressy. I was also busy with training in Canberra, and Melbourne. I experienced some new venues this year, and had my first ever trainings at an abattoir, a fish factory, and a hairdressing salon.

I am excited to see what 2022 will bring. My first trainings for the year will be in Sydney finally delivering sessions that have now been postponed 3 times (fingers crossed). I am also super pumped to be enrolled in The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety Certification Course delivered through Leader Factor with Dr Timothy R Clark (author of The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety). Once completed I will have access to some brilliant new resources to use in my 2022 updated training courses.

The best part of my job is the people I meet, I am thankful for everyone I have met this year, thanks for the conversations, the debates, and the laughs.

And now I am thankful for a relaxing few weeks off (and no travel 😊).  See you in 2022

Cheers
Roz
